Peter N. Pelavin:

I was born in 1960 and grew up here in San Francisco. I’ve been practicing law in the Bay Area since 1987. I graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law, where I was a member of the Law Review.

After graduating from law school, I worked for the Carnelutti Law Firm in Milan, Italy to widen my experience and improve my Italian. I then returned to San Francisco, where I worked in a small firm, a medium-sized firm, and a large firm, mainly because of mergers. Not enjoying the practice in a large firm, I left and established my own practice in 1991.

It might also interest you to know that I attended the University of California at Los Angeles, where I received a degree in English Literature. I have given lectures on the topics of estate planning and estate administration as well as business formation. I have also participated on a panel teaching a course on COBRA compliance.  I was a director and officer of the Strybing Arboretum Society (now known as the San Francisco Botanical Garden Society). I have also worked in association with a foundation established to help children living in poverty in Manilla.

I practice in the areas of general business law, contracts, estate planning, estate administration, and real estate.

Samantha Murray Tighe:

I was born in San Rafael where I have lived all my life except when I was away at school. I graduated from Golden Gate University School of Law and upon graduating worked in the area of family law.

Prior to law school, I attended the University of California at Santa Barbara, where I received a degree in Law and Society.

I began working with Peter Pelavin in 1996.  My practice emphasizes estate planning, estate administration, and related areas of law.

I am an active volunteer for my local school district and take great joy and pride in being a native and resident of Marin County.
