About Us

Our offices provide an informal and relaxed environment, making what is often a difficult process as comfortable as possible.

We’re also available to meet our clients at their homes, and we do not charge for an initial consultation.*

After spending several years working at small, medium, and large law firms, Peter Pelavin opened his own firm with the goal to provide personalized, friendly, and professional legal services at reasonable rates.

In 1996, Samantha Tighe began working with Peter N. Pelavin because of shared goals, and visions for providing a personal, friendly environment for clients.

Although estate planning and administration are our primary areas of practice, we also offer general business advice and work with lessors and lessees and prepare contracts.

We want to make sure that our clients are well informed, so we work closely with them to ensure that they fully understand the legal process and options available to them whether they are planning their estates, dealing with the death of a loved one, or working through any other legal matter.

When working on estate plans, we take the time necessary to explore options, teach clients what they need to know in order to make an informed decision, and then tailor the plan to the clients’ specific needs.

Whenever necessary, we assist our clients in the decision-making process. We strive to prevent disputes but should they arise, we do our best to resolve them without resorting to litigation. All of our services are reasonably priced either based on an hourly rate or flat fees, which are available for some services.

What to Expect at Your First Meeting

Our first meeting will be a relaxed, information-gathering session that will help us understand your needs. During this session, we’ll explain what you can expect over the course of our representation.

We will do all we can to make the experience comfortable and informative. We hope we will be a good match and you will use our services, but if you feel otherwise, we will not charge you for the initial meeting.

* Our complimentary initial consultation is intended as a time for us to get to know our potential clients and for them to get to know us. This will typically include a review of your current situation and an assessment of what services we might recommend. We will not charge for the initial meeting for up to an hour. If the initial consultation exceeds one hour or if the potential client indicates they wish to engage our services, we may continue beyond an hour and we reserve the right to charge our normal hourly fees for the time exceeding the contemplated initial hour.

Please give us a call at (415) 986-5910 or contact us to schedule an appointment.
